Food Awards

Simon received the 2010 Australian Food Media Club Award for Best Food Article a story titled ‘Chinese Whispers’, about dining in Hong Kong, published in Travel + Leisure Australia.

He also won a similar award in 2008 for Best Food Tourism Article, for a story on food from Tasmania’s west coast, also published in Travel + Leisure Australia.

Simon was also Highly Commended in the 2010 Awards in the Best Investigative Food Journalism category for a story of Fair Trade, looking at the coffee and chocolate industries, published in The Weekend Australian Magazine.

He has been a finalist for Best Restaurant Critic and Best Food Journalist in the bi-annual World Food Media Awards.

His spaghetti bolognaise has been given a 10-out-of-10 score by his son during family dinner.
